#1. The Language in Gender Discourses in the Court Trials
Sheilla Brooke
The objective of this work is to analyze the language in gender discourses in the court trials. The analysis seeks to understand which aspects of gender relations are brought to the fore substantiate the accusation and defense theses, explaining how the judges also contribute to producing gender senses. The reflection is based on sociology concept, which criticizes the supposed neutrality of showing how it is marked by power relations. From observations and ethnographies of the judgment ritual, it was possible to perceive that the gender social role is widely used and constitutes a central strategy in the court trials to attribute credibility not only to those involved, but to the versions that are in dispute, becoming an important resource of power in the court trials.
